Ready for Summer with Whole Foods + A Giveaway!

It’s summer time! Here in Seattle it has felt like summer for quite awhile, but as of yesterday it is official, summer is here. Lately I have been working on getting healthy, putting good food into my body, exercising more often, and taking time to relax and enjoy my time for a healthy mind. So when Whole Foods reached out to me about their Ready for Action week to kick off summer I was pretty excited. Starting this Wednesday June 24, Whole Foods is kicking off their first “Ready for Action” week to encourage active living and proper nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Starting on Saturday June 27 the bag below will be on sale to help you with all your summer needs, but if you don’t want to go get one yourself you can enter to win one below!

Products in "Ready for Action" bag

Toms of Maine Long Lasting Deodorant – This is actually the second time I’ve gotten a sample of the Toms deodorant (although last time it wasn’t full size) and I love it. My biggest issue with deodorants is usually the white residue being left behind, and I don’t know if I’ve just gotten better or this stuff just works better than the ones claiming to leave behind no white residue, but this has never caused me problems.

Boiron Arnicare Gel – This may be the product I was most excited to see in this bag, because I swear by arnicare gel and I feel like I can never have too much. If you haven’t heard of arnicare gel before (I hadn’t until a couple months ago) basically it is an all nature pain, muscle, and bruise healing gel. We used this stuff a ton when Bryan sprained his ankle recently, and it also always helps my sore muscles or bruises from pole dancing.

Goddess Garden Organics Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 – If you are anything like me you are always starting out the season hoping last years sunscreen hasn’t gone bad yet because you haven’t had a chance to go buy more yet, so I’m always excited to get more. I can’t really say no to a more natural sunscreen either since I am slathering over my entire body day after day.

Aubrey Pure Aloe Vera – And for those days that you don’t remember to reapply quite as often as you should having aloe vera on hand is always a good idea.

Amazing Meal, Garden of Life, and Spectrum Meal and Protein Powders – I’ve been working with a nutritionist lately and one of the first things she suggested I work on is adding more protein to my diet, because I (like most people) lean a little heavily on carbohydrates without adding enough protein into my diet. Sometimes it is hard to find ways to get enough protein especially when I haven’t planned ahead so protein and meal powders are amazing to transform shakes, smoothies, pancakes, etc into a more protein rich snack or meal.

Nuun Active Natural Electrolyte Enhanced Drink Tabs – These fix a little bit and then give a slight lemon and fizz taste to your water. I’m not going to lie it isn’t my favorite taste in the world, but it isn’t that bad either and pretty easy to drink. I have been throwing these into my water after dance to get some electrolytes back after sweating.

Plus some coupons for some of the products included.
